Sparkle & Celebrate PINK 2019 | Breast Cancer Event

breast cancer event, breast cancer, cancer, survivor, mastectomy, breast reconstruction, atlanta, cancer event, free event, volunteer, susan g komen, body paint, glitter, self love, body positive, embrace your scars

If you're new to the gang you may not be familiar with terms like "Glitter Tits" or "Bedazzle The Boobies" - which is totally fine, because I'm going to explain it all right here.

In 2017 a group of talented artists came together to form Sparkle & Celebrate PINK, an event focused on pampering breast cancer survivors.  Myself, Cotton Rouge Makeup & Co, and Staci Gibbs spent the day with 5 women who will forever be deemed the OG's.  It was such an emotional and selfishly rewarding day, we decided to make it a thing.  Last year talented body painter Natalka Tyniec and hair stylist Kristi Purvis joined us and an even greater level of amazingness was achieved.  Click here to see a sponsor list and images from the event.

This year we are adding my good friend Julie Hunter to the list of sponsors, she is boss babe of Creative Road Media and will be providing video for the event!

Well, now it's time to one up that amazingness with our 2019 celebration of beauty and bravery!

Detail breakdown:
Where: Mirrored Images Boudoir: 800 Georgia Ave Suite 5&6, Gainesville GA 30501
When: Sept 8th starting at 10am
What: We are providing professional make up and hair, body painting, as well as a photo session (group and individual) to survivors and fighters of this disease.  Lunch, beverages, and snacks are also provided.  Participants must be willing to sign a model release (allows all artists who have volunteered their time to publish/post images and share this incredible experience with others), must be 18+ years old, be willing to travel to Gainesville, GA for a ONE DAY ONLY event.
I am working on gathering other vendors to donate items so participants can walk away with a few additional gifts to remember the event.  Tshirts, body glitter, lotions, candles, soaps, etc.  If you or someone you know may be interested in donating, please contact me asap!
This event is FREE - the entire day is provided to you by volunteer artists.   We must be able to verify that you truly are a survivor or current fighter of breast cancer.  Please email shootme@mirroredimages.net if you wish to apply.  Include your name, age, location, your story of survival, and why this event is important to you.
Previous events participants:

“You’ve helped me begin to find myself again.  I’m getting more comfortable with how my body has changed and I am learning to embrace it…scars and all.  I really thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

“My husband’s reaction to the Sparkle & Celebrate pictures was the best feeling in the world!!!!  He is so proud, he wants to share with everybody!  I know I am not a model, but after 10 years of hiding….I finally feel whole again.  I can never thank you enough – not only for what you did for me on the outside that day, but what you did for me on the inside for a lifetime!  Thank you!”

Greenville Photographer | Little Black Dress {Photo Booth}

Whew!  What a night!  We met a ton of upstate women tonight at the Little Black Dress party, which was hosted by Entercom Upstate at the Children's Museum.  I set up a small photo gallery with canvas wraps and albums, as well as a photo booth which was a big hit!  It was my first photo booth EVER and I am totally doing it again.  It was fun!  Katie also set up a section to show case her awesome make up skills.  It was a ton of fun and I'm very grateful to my amazing friends who once again came through and helped me out!

If you're interested in ordering a print from the photo booth please email me :) shootme@mirroredimages.net

Greenville Boudoir Photographer | Little Black Dress Party

I'm so excited to announce this!

While I was enjoying sunny Florida I received a phone call from a lovely lady who is an account manager for Entercom Upstate.  B93.7 and Magic 98.9 are putting together an event called "Little Black Dress Party" on March 3, 2011 from 7:30pm-10:30pm  at the Children's Museum of Greenville and she felt I'd be perfect for it!  This is the ultimate girls night out!  There will be cocktails, food, a DJ, live performances from Andy Grammar (if you don't know who he is look for him on YouTube, he's adorable and has a great voice) and multiple vendors offering discounts and give aways!  Tickets are $10 and will be sold in advance and at the door.  They're expecting 300-400 ladies so come on out in your Little Black Dress and be pampered for the night.

I will be offering 15% off of my boudoir sessions and parties.  One lucky lady may  even get a free boudoir session! Katie will be there with me doing hourly mini-make over giveaways!  I will also have a photo booth set up with fun props so you and your ladies can take your memories from this evenings event home with you!

Link to the B93.7 info page to buy your tickets!  There will be a Best of contest for the vendors, so please text 'IMAGE' to 73807 after the event!!!

Country Side Ride...

I have been eye balling a certain sunflower patch for over a year. Two years ago I was told there was a beautiful, full and bloomed patch but I could not find it anywhere. The following year I found it, but was about a week too late and they were all dead. But this year, I had my buddies that lived around there keep an eye on it and today I made the drive to photograph it. It's such a beautiful drive that I should take more often. Relaxing and scenic the whole way.

When I got there I found another photographer named Bill. He's from the west coast and is visiting friends here. The stalks were so high that I discovered a new found love for my jeep. I set up the tri pod on top of my jeep and shot away! Who would have thought it? I did some HDR and some single exposure. I hope you enjoy them and remember prints and gallery wraps are available in all sizes!

Bachelor & Bachelorette Auction

Last night was such a success.  We started off bad and had to push the time back but I am glad we did!  We were competing with Downtown Alive and the Greenville Drive game but come 8:30 people started showing up and the auction started!  Huge thanks to Frampton for setting up everything at Wild Wing Cafe Greenville, he even hooked us up by getting us on the Downtown Alive stage to give the crowd some info on the event and last nights auction.  Blake the DJ, you were so much fun.  Dino from B93.7 thanks for giving us all the goodies to add to our auction packages, Dino and Blake really kept the crowd going ... many laughs were had by all.  Thank you to Jessica (or Jennifer? .... kidding) from WSPA for coming out to interview me (Eekkk!!!) and help spread the word about Portraits for Heroes.  Thank you to Eric and Sarah for setting up a photo area and helping us to remember this event for years to come.  And... last by not least... thank you to all the people who showed up.  We were so lucky to have a great group of people on the stage being bid on, they made it easy for us!!  If you weren't there, you missed out!  To our highest bidders (they got the tag team Mallorie and Ashley) here's a picture to remember the night.  And thank you to all those bidding, whether you won or not your support did not go unnoticed.

Bachelor & Bachelorette Auction

I just want to remind everyone to register to be a part of our charity bachelor & bachelorette auction.  Please see http://portraitsforheroes.com/?page_id=96  to fill out the form.  Pass the word to all your friends and lets try to get at least 8 men and 8 women to help us raise some money to fund Portraits for Heroes!  This event is going to be a lot of fun and a great way to get information out about this cause.

Thanks so much!

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star event photos!

I was honored to be a part of the first annual Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.  This was a fundraiser event for Shriners Hospital and DSS that was sponsored by Upstate USA Dance.  It was a pleasure to photograph the wonderful supporters, the patients and the dancers.  I wish I could move like that!  It was a great turn out and I am looking forward to next years event.  If you are in any of the pictures please stop by the fan page (www.facebook.com/mirroredimages) and tag yourself!

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star

I received an email from Shriners PR department requesting I participate in their silent auction on an upcoming event called "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and of course I jumped at the opportunity!  I don't think they realized how much I love charties because when I offered to photograph it as well, they thought I wanted compensation!

USA Dance is sponsoring this event for Shriners Hospital to raise money.  I have donated two portrait sessions and I will be providing all images to both Shriners and USA dance to be used however they choose.
