Palm Beach Wedding Photographer | What's in a first look?
Whether you're a traditional bride or not, every one should consider a First Look on their wedding day. There's a lot of buzz on the subject and, as a photographer, I feel my two cents is of value here.
Your wedding day will fly by. The moments, the memories and the special details will be overcome by anxiously awaiting your walk down the isle. Imagine if you were able to spend a few moments together before the ceremony, to be able to look into each others eyes and to absorb the moment with no one else there (except a ninja photographer). A private, romantic and emotional union that will allow all the nervousness to escape so that you are able to fully enjoy and appreciate your wedding ceremony. Imagine being able to capture this moment. The real, raw and true emotions displayed through professional photographs that will bring the memories of this day to life each time you look at them.
A First Look is a collaborative effort between the B&G and photographer (preferably Mirrored Images ;) ) to set up the perfect scene to execute this amazing moment in time. The emotion of seeing each other for the first time is still captured, but the impact is far greater during a First Look.
When deciding if a first look is right for you, remember the following:
*Your hair and make up will be fresh and picture perfect.
*You'll be able to finish majority of your wedding pictures prior to the ceremony which means you get to the reception faster!
*There are no distractions to take away from your moment together.
So there you have it. Granted, time lines don't always play out as planned but a First Look will put you at the reception mingling with your guests and starting the party off at least one hour before a bride without a First Look.
(First Look example was taken during a wedding I photographed with Sarah Rominger Photography out of Asheville, NC)
Palm Beach Newborn Photographer | Aiden {33 days new}
Lil itty bitty Aiden came into the world 8 weeks early and came out ready to see the world. Born June 4, 2012 4lbs 9oz and 16 3/4" long. Aiden is the epitome of a service baby. Dad is a Firefighter Paramedic for Delray Beach Fire Department, mom is a dispatcher for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, and Uncle Cody is living on Fort Bragg as part of the 82nd Airborne Division. We tried to incorporate a little bit of everything into the session, including proud Dad's drum that he plays for Palm Beach County Firefighters Pipes and Drums (which are my fav out of the session) and Uncle Codys family crest tattoo on his side.
Although Aiden put up a fight, we still won (5 hours later). It was nice hanging out with the Kavanagh crew and meeting Aiden. Congrats Amber and JT :)
Palm Beach Newborn Photographer | Mason's Slideshow
I don't usually do slideshows for portrait sessions, but I couldn't resist. I think I may start doing it more often!
Palm Beach Newborn Photography | Mason {4 days new}
Completely unbiased here, but Mason is the cutest baby I've photographed -- ever. He's my nephew and was born on Friday June 29th, 6lbs 12oz and 19 1/2 inches long. He's a little peanut! Long before Mason was even thought of, my brother had an idea of what he wanted his first borns pictures to be like. Matt works for PBCFR - Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (hopefully I will soon, too) and wanted to incorporate that into the session.
Congrats Matt and Lisa, you have a sweet baby boy <3
Palm Beach Photographer | Summer Mini Sessions
I have the cutest idea for this years summer mini's. It's just perfect! Think... summer refreshments, 25cents, and delicious. ;)

Palm Beach Photographer | Lorna {Just Because}
Lorna contacted me the beginning of the year for a just because shoot and we've literally been rain dancing and praying since then. Finally, we were able to make it happen this past weekend. We had our session at the beach and it was the perfect day for it, definitely worth the wait.
Here's a few from her session!
Palm Beach Newborn Photography | Emelie {10 days new}
So when I gave mom the low down on how to prepare for this session, she thought I was nuts. I can see where she thought that, because keeping a baby awake for an extended period of time is pretty nuts (especially when all mom wants to do is sleep!). But after the session mom was begging me to do nightly photo session of lil Emelie because she slept from 7pm to 12:30 am, ate and then she slept again until 6:30 am. I think it's safe to say I wore her out, but she was an excellent model!
Congrats on your beautiful little girl, Aritta. She's perfect.
West Palm Beach Maternity Photography | Michelle + Doug {Awaiting Baby #3}
How gorgeous is this family? I can't wait to see what baby #3 looks like, Michelle's first two look like models!
After a rain reschedule we had beautiful weather yesterday for our session. Michelle wears pregnancy so well and is stunning to photograph. They're expecting May 11th, but my birthday is the 25th so maybe mom can hold off a few extra days ;) Kidding!
West Palm Beach Photographer | Jo {Just Because}
If I had to guess, I'd say 90% of my recent clients tell me "I'm not photogenic" or "I don't know how to pose" so it was no shocker when Jo told me the same. I think we, as women, need to give ourselves more credit! We're beautiful and amazing and I do my best to photograph that in each person. I made Jo do some funny poses to break the ice and it worked - because when she relaxed she was fabulous. I showed her a few images I had taken as we progressed through the session and she was blown away at how beautiful she looked. I hate to be the one to break it to you Jo, but you are beautiful. ;)
I enjoyed our session, you were an absolute pleasure to work with!
Palm Beach Family Photography | Amy + Aiden {And Toby too!}
Amy and Aiden came from Ft Lauderdale fully equipped with their pup Toby, a friend to help, and jackets to ward off the cold wind. Lil Aiden was a popsicle but was still a handsome fella. We only shot off a few before he was ready for the heated ride back home in moms car. We'll go for round two in the spring!
